GIVE SMOOTH AND GLOWING SKIN
A Chemical Peel is a resurfacing skin treatment which involves applying a product onto the skin to accelerate the turnover of skin cells and reveal smoother healthy skin. A Chemical Peel can also target the deeper layers of your skin to tackle specific concerns. By treating the deeper layers, the ingredients of the skin peel encourage cellular renewal to regenerate and repair the skin.
This can help treat skin concerns such as lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, acne, enlarged pores and scarring; as well as improving skin texture, smoothness and boosting collagen. A Chemical Skin Peel brings healthy new skin cells to the surface more quickly, refreshing your skin’s natural radiant appearance and promoting a beautiful, clear complexion.

The length of the treatment depends on which chemical face peel is required, in some cases, they can be left on for 30 minutes or more. You can discuss which peel will be right for you at your initial consultation.
WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?
The treatment involves cleansing the face and brushing the chemical liquid on top of the skin to remove the top layers. This is left for a few minutes, which may cause some stinging and burning sensations. Once the peel has taken affect, the face is then neutralised with a cooling, saline dressing. Lighter and medium peels generally do not require anaesthesia, but a deeper peel might. Each chemical peel can bring about different results, the treatments vary as follows
Lighter peels
This acts on the outer layer of epidermis. The chemical is applied to small areas of your skin depending on the characteristics of your skin and the desired results. Typically it’s left on for a few minutes before the saline is applied. After, the skin may feel tight for a couple of hours. Some superficial peels may require a few treatments a number of weeks apart.
Medium peels
More moderate peels remove the outer layer of the epidermis and the upper part of the layer underneath. Again, this is left on for a few minutes and patients may feel their skin stinging or burning during this time. The cooling agent is then applied. Skin may go red or brown in the days afterwards and it can take up to 6 weeks to return to normal.
Deep peels
This will act on the epidermis and the dermis, including the deep skin layers. Deeper peels will require a pre-treatment of the skin with Retin A. For this procedure, patients will usually need a local anesthetic. The liquid is applied onto your cleansed face for 30 minutes or more. Deeper peels can result in redness and discomfort for the first few days.
RESULTS
Once your skin has started to heal you should notice smoother, clearer and more toned skin. The more intense the peel, the longer the results will last.
THE BENEFITS

YOU CAN USE A SKiN PEEL AS A ONE-OFF TREATMENT, HOWEVER, FOR THE BEST RESULTS, WE RECOMMEND A COURSE OF 4-8 SESSiONS, SPACED AROUND 3-4 WEEKS APART
HOW IT WORKS
1
- A chemical peel works by using one or more acids that are applied to the skin. Once applied to your skin the acid and the protein in your skin react, causing peeling and exfoliation of your skin.
2
- A chemical peel can target different depths of the skin. A mild, superficial peel works on the surface (epidermis) of your skin to remove dead skin cells and encourage the renewal of healthy cells. Whereas medium or deep peels work on the epidermis and into the dermis to not only exfoliate dead skin cells but to also stimulate collagen and elastin.
3
- Chemical peels can be used to improve acne, pigmentation, ageing and wrinkles, acne scars, skin tone and texture. They are an excellent way to rejuvenate and refresh the skin.
4
- The glycolic acid peel treatment is one of the most popular treatments as it offers effective exfoliation, but with minimal downtime, as it works mainly on the top layers of skin.
